Pitino Previews Saturday's Home Opener against East Tennessee State

Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and sophomore guard Kyle Kuric met with members of the media on Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's home opener against East Tennessee State in the Hall of Fame Showcase. The Cards and Buccaneers will tip off at 4:07 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised by WHAS-TV in Louisville.

6-0 Guard Smith Signs With Cardinal Basketball

Russ Smith, a 6-0, 160-pound guard from South Kent (Conn.) School, has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue his basketball playing career at the University of Louisville. Smith averaged 29.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists for Coach Jack Curran as a senior last season at Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, N.Y.

Limited number of Cardinal Basketball tickets available

A limited number of upper end zone tickets for nine of the next 10 University of Louisville men's basketball home games in Freedom Hall are currently on sale. The tickets are those usually reserved for visiting team purchase, but have not been claimed by those schools.

Reginald Delk scored 20 points in a reserve role to double his previous career high and sparked key surges in both halves, helping No. 20 Louisville open with a 96-66 victory over depleted Arkansas in the Hall of Fame Showcase on Tuesday night.

University of Louisville senior linebacker Chris Campa was named the BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.Pittsburgh wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin was the offensive player, while Rutgers cornerback Devin McCourty was the special teams winner.

University of Louisville baseball head coach Dan McDonnell announced the signing of shortstop Alex Chittenden (Indianapolis, Ind.), catcher Jake DePew (Granite City, Ill.) and right-handed pitchers Dace Kime (Defiance, Ohio) and Jeff Thompson (Greenville, Ind.) to National Letters-of-Intent during the 2010 early signing period.

Louisville Baseball Releases 2010 Schedule

University of Louisville baseball head coach Dan McDonnell released the Cardinals' 2010 schedule on Thursday and it includes 31 games at Jim Patterson Stadium, 41 games against BCS Conference schools and 12 games against NCAA Regional teams from last year.

Freshman righty Curtis McCombs pitched four scoreless innings and freshman second baseman Kyle Grieshaber had two RBI and a run scored to lead the Swiss Cheese's to a 3-1 win over Xan's Zephyrs on Thursday afternoon in the decisive third game of the 2009 Pizza Bowl series at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Women's Basketball Tips Off 2009-10 Season at Dayton on Sunday

The Louisville women's basketball team will open up the 2009-10 season on the road against Dayton on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 1:00 p.m. The Cardinals enter the game ranked 19th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll and 23rd in the Associated Press Poll.

Women's Basketball Signs Top Four Recruiting Class

Louisville head coach Jeff Walz has announced that Shawnta Dyer, Polly Harrington, Antonita Slaughter, Charmaine Tay and Sheronne Vails have all signed letters-of-intent to play for the University of Louisville next season. The Cardinals' recruiting class has been ranked No. 4 by some publications, giving Walz and his staff their highest ranked recruiting class in school history.
