Nov. 21 Football, Men's Basketball Times Set

Game times have been set for two University of Louisville events on Saturday Nov. 21 -- football at USF will kick off at noon and U of L's men's basketball home opener against East Carolina in Freedom Hall will tip off at 4:00 p.m.

Posters for the 2009-10 University of Louisville men's basketball season will be available at all Louisville area Rally's restaurants and over 40 participating area Thornton's stores beginning Monday, Nov. 9 while supplies last.

Louisville Tops Bellarmine 88-65 in Exhibition Finale

Sophomore forward Samardo Samuels knotched a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Preston Knowles added 15 as the Louisville Cardinals earned an 88-65 exhibition win over Bellarmine University on Wednesday night at Freedom Hall. Justin Benedetti led the Knights with 21 points.

Pitino Previews Wednesday's Exhibition Finale against Bellarmine

Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media on Tuesday at the Yum! Center to preview Wednesday's exhibition finale against Bellarmine. The Cards and Knights will tip off at 7:07 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised by WHAS-TV in Louisville.

Information on New Arena Provided to U of L Season Ticket Holders

University of Louisville men's basketball season ticket holders will receive personalized information in the mail over the next week regarding the transition plan from Freedom Hall to the new Downtown Arena.

Louisville (3-6, 0-4) couldn't take advantage of Darius Ashley's 164 yards rushing and fell to West Virginia, 17-9, on the road. Redshirt freshman Will Stein went 14-of-26 in his first road start.

Louisville football head coach Steve Kragthorpe and redshirt freshman quarterback Will Stein met with reporters on Monday to preview Saturday's BIG EAST Conference road game at West Virginia. The Cardinals and Mountaineers are scheduled to kick off at noon ET at Milan Puskar Stadium and the game will be televised by the BIG EAST Network on WHAS-TV.

University of Louisville baseball head coach Dan McDonnell released the Cardinals' 2010 schedule on Thursday and it includes 31 games at Jim Patterson Stadium, 41 games against BCS Conference schools and 12 games against NCAA Regional teams from last year.

Freshman Kyle Grieshaber had two hits, two RBI and scored the game-winning run on an RBI sacrifice fly by senior Adam Duvall to lead the Swiss Cheese's to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Xan's Zephyrs in game one of the 2009 Pizza Bowl series on Tuesday afternoon at Jim Patterson Stadium.

The University of Louisville women's basketball team was picked to finish tied for third in the BIG EAST preseason poll. The selections were made by the league's 16 head coaches, who were not permitted to select their own teams. The Cardinals (34-5, 14-2 BIG EAST) and DePaul (23-10, 10-6) tied for third in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll with 171 points each.

McCoughtry Named MVP of Ekaterinburg International Invitational

The U.S. was led by Angel McCoughtry's (Atlanta Dream) 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while Swin Cash (Seattle Storm) accounted for 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting; Sue Bird (Seattle Storm) added 11 points and Tina Charles (University of Connecticut) tossed in 10 points and grabbed eight boards.
