AGAIN frusterated with local sports radio!

So ive got to vent once again. Today I call the Afternoon Underdogs to talk about the Purvis decommit and I bring up the Branden Bender article, which is being reported on by Pat Forde of ESPN and Pete Thammel of the New York Times. I go on to mention that in the first article Forde has this excerpt- "After an overseas career, Bender returned to the U.S. and coached some AAU ball while also trying to establish himself as a middleman with recruits. Multiple Southeastern Conference coaches told ESPN.com that in 2009-10, Bender contacted them trying to strike a deal for Turkish big man Enes Kanter, who wound up at Kentucky. The SEC coaches said Bender told them he could deliver Kanter." So I tell them how the whole dirty recruiting world makes me sick to my stomach and say SPECIFICALLY, what do you all think of the fact that even though Kanter never played a minute in college basketball, he did end up at UK with Calipari and want to know what they think about that. Well, of course they completely ignore that whole conversation and don't utter a single word on the topic of the connection between Bender and Kanter! I really like Vanetti and Jennings and have met them many times but this frustrates the heck out of me. Makes me think that someone higher than them have made them change the show completely and they're almost afraid to upset any the UK fans who do listen! I swear it's just turning into a joke. Ive listened to Bob Valvano's show, and I like him, but he doent talk enough about whats going on locally. Seriously though, The Underdogs used to be a sports show with at least some UofL slant and now its turned into a UK apologist show.

Yep, getting tired of not having a sports station or show that focuses mostly UofL sports with a few other things sprinkled in! The Curious Journal frustrates me as well.

I got one...when the UFC was in town, Robby Lawler, a very well known fighter throughout the MMA world was on the Underdogs show promoting an after fight party at Preston Hwy Hooters. He had just lost the StrikeForce title to now champ Jakari Souza the weekend before.

Dumbass Dave Jennings asks Robbie....."do you still fight???".........Are you kidding me?!?!?!

Robbie seemed dumb founded by the question and sort of blew it off, thank god.Do these guys even have a clue who was in their studio? Geez! do some homework! Horrible,horrible interview! I stopped to those guys after that...oh yeah 1 more

Vanetti was on Matt Jones show taking knockout blows while Matt Jones just laughs in his face about recruiting and just takes it. I don't agree with one damn thing that dude says period! somebody should tell him to stick to classic rock..
