OFFICIAL TAILGATE FOR THE 2009 SEASON AT CHURCHILL PARK!!!

We are hosting the 2009 Cardinal Football Tailgate this season at Churchill Park, which is only TWO BLOCKS from PJCS!!!

Churchill Park Season Parking Pass and Single Game Parking Passes

Season Passes: $50 - Includes parking for ALL Home games, and parking for the Trinity/St.X game on October 4th is included as a bonus. (Averages out to $8.33 a game to park FOR THE 6 HOME GAMES....SWEET)

Single Game Passes: $10 per game.

Check out the mp3 audio file I made off speakerphone with Sharon our contact person from Metro Parks included in this announcememt in the attachments below. Sharon has informed me that tailgating is 'all good', and they have been doing this back there since 2004.

Sharon said that as long as we have parking passes, keep our 'beverages' in cups, and clean up the area after we are finished, that is all they ask.

Here are pictures of Churchill Park, so you can see exactly where it is, and the 'lay of the land':

There are (2) ways to secure Parking Passes:

1. Fill out the Churchill Park Metro Parks flyer with an enclosed check, and mail to PO Box address shown for Metro Parks.

2. Stop by the Metro Parks office in person and pay and get your pass/passes.

Metro Parks Office Location for picking up your parking passes in person:

1297 Trevilian Way
Louisville, KY 40233
(502) 456-8157
Contact person: Sharon
(Right across from the Louisville Zoo. Look for the 'mansion'. That is the building their office is located in.)

Now for the good stuff. We will have (3) sets of regulation cornhole boards, digital dart board, music, canopy tent, great specialty food every week, and PLENTY of 'beverages'. We are talking about hosting some friendly Texas Hold Em' poker games as well.

The cost of the tailgate for food and 'beverages' will be between a $10-$20 donation, for ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK, for each home game. (Pay as you go each home game for food and drinks; does NOT have to be paid up front, unless you just want to, which is no problem either.)

You sit back and enjoy yourself, and we do all the work for you!

We would like to start getting interest level and some solid confirmations established, so if you are planning on spending the 2009 football season with us tailgating in a friendly, secure tailgate, with great fans who support our Cards, we have the place for you!!!

For questions, confirmations, and information, please contact Shannon at: louvillecardinals@yahoo.com.

Shannon! You Are Da Man. Its looks like I have new place to tailgate. We have 4 season tickets with our seats and usually hang with a couple of guys that make up about another 8. As for parking, we will likely take it week by week just because we always have different situations and driving needs....kids, ballgames, angry wives, you get the point.

That's one last question, some of our group has pre teen to teenage boys that go along. Do you consider this kid friendly?

After your reply Ill talk to my group and get you a solid number for your estimates.

ABSOLUTELY KID FRIENDLY!!!!!

This sounds perfect. I will have to take it game by game as well. Question though..... what about Card March will we be able to make it there and back to continue the party??

Reply to This

Absolutely Brad. We will tailgate AFTER the games for a while too.

Terry and I are going to Churchill Park in a few minutes, to get some pictures, and check it all out thoroughly.

Sharon told me that even if you do not get parking pass(s), there will still be first come, first serve parking for $10 each game, and I am sure we can hold spots for $10 up front per spot.

She said they can park 300 cars back there, and only 40 spots confirmed so far.

This place is perfect. Did Sharon give you any indication if the cars are packed in tight on the grass or just in the lot? I've changed my mind, I am buying my season passes this week for at least one car.

Good work Shannon!

Yeah, we used to play softball games there when we played intramurals. I can't wait, I've been thinking about football all day!!!

The location is so sweet.....

For the parking, they park cars out on the field too, but over where we are at with the (6) trees is on the edge of Churchill Park by the fence.

Sharon said that there will be clean port-o-lets each week, and plus there will be Metro Parks people monitoring the lot for security when we leave for the game.

A sweet deal all around!!!!

Hey Shannon is the shade tree area on the right side of the ball field or am I way off? Looks real nice! There's a good chance I'll be tailgaiting with you guys.

Reply to This

Yes, going in the park the trees are on the right outside what would be 1st base side of the ball diamond.

Reply to This

Yes. The right side if I said left......

I am an idiot. We will be on the extreme right, under the (6) shade trees.
