SEATTLE, Wa. - Tony Wroten is announcing on Thursday, October 7 at 6 p.m. Louisville time, 3 p.m. Seattle time. You can watch it live streaming at The Seatlle Times.
I'm not necessarily expecting him to pick Louisville, but I believe there is the possibility he may.
However, he will do something very interesting and I think just watching it for the show he'll put on is well worth it.
Again, I expect a UW commit from him, but if he picks Louisville, then it is a major victory for Fuller and Pitino, and could help Louisville land R.Hood and Q. Miller.

Permalink Reply by Donald Yaste on October 7, 2010 at 2:39pm I do not expect UL to land all three, Wroten, Miller and Hood. But with already having Behanan, Blackshear, Price and Nunez, any one of these three will make for a soilid class. IF, all these arrive it will give Pitino his first top 5 class since taking over at UL. Then we can see if Pitino has the same magic he once posessed at uk.
Wroten NEEDS UL more than UL needs Wroten. Wroten loves the spotlight and media attention and he would get his fill of that at UL, the new arena, the Big East and the east coast media. He will receive none of that on the west coast and at Washington. The majority of the US population is in the east and does not see the west coast highlights on ESPN until the next day. If he chooses UW, he will be 'day old news'. The one thing I find interesting about Wroten is he raved about his UL visit and set his announcement immediately following that vist. He took NO official visits at any other school, including Washington. All that would indicate a UL committment, but we know recruiting is a head scratching business.
I have seen video of wroten and he certainly is a playmaker and a wizard at passing the ball. He is tall and has the quickness and strength to get in the paint and score or dish it off. We will kepp our fingers crossed on this one.

Permalink Reply by Donald Yaste on October 8, 2010 at 12:01pm Not a great loss with wroten, I do not think anyone expected his committ anyway. Rodney Hood is in town for the weekend. He is a 5 star and a pure shooter. At 6-7 he has the ability to play the SG or SF. He would be a better pick up than Wroten. Wroten is a PG and UL will have Siva for 3 more years. Hood is a good passer and with his height could be a Point forward much like T Will or Garcia. Also, if Pitino can land Hood, it will not hurt so much if Miller strings the recruitment out and chooses Baylor or Duke. I think Pitino learned a lesson from Telfair, Tyler and Teague and when recruits start procrastinating he simply goes to the next guy so not to get stuck empty handed. We, as fans, do not know the whole story in recruiting either. We do not know what the recruits or their families are asking of the coaches or if they have a 'hand out'. Go cards, good luck with Hood or Miller.
