Jurich would be well served to recommend (not force) the new head coach to keep Gred Nord around. Who do I think will get the new assignment? Honestly, I am not certain at this point in time...but the Bowden & Bowden combo intrigues me. One thing I…

Jurich will hopefully give the new coach carte blanche in the selection of his coordinators and staff. I hope they does keep Greg Nord in some capacity and that maybe Brent guy gets a chance to build on the defense he did a good job with this year.…

Never say never but I just can't see Gruden coming here. Bowden brothers does put off a little spark and rates some very well thought out discussions. Nationally the Bowden brothers would inspire a lot of talk I do believe. Myself, I never followed…

I'm looking forward to a new beginning. I also don't wish any ill will to CSK or his family but part of the blame has to fall at the feet of Tom Jurich. God's AD obviously isn't God-like. He makes mistakes also. I've read a bunch of differing opini…

Monique Reid took over a close game in the second half and tossed in 17 of her game high 21 points to lead the Cards to the lopsided win. These freshmen and sophomores are really coming around nicely and Asia Taylor and Ashley Rainey both had big…

They did let him do the "Call to the post" yesterday before the game (he nailed it, not a missed note). Hughes frustration with the Al Greenert "rogue" pep band, as he calls it...is understandable because of the lack of current student makeup in it.…

Four of us got tossed, but me and Bob bought scalper tickets, went back to the van for a couple of beers, re-entered the stadium on the other side, bought and donned Memphis caps and t-shirts and walked unrecognized right past the cops that tossed us and returned to our seats...to the cheers of the group we were with. Louisville won that night 32-31 on a diving Lavelle Boyd catch of a Chris Redman pass in the end zone with 4 seconds to go.

The wait for results

Waiting for the beginning of the Cardinal football season and the start of fall practice this year can be best described by remembering the story of the little boy who sent Santa an early Christmas list in October. At the end he added:

"Just wanted to get in a list of a few the good things I've been doing lately, so when it all goes south in early December, I've got some pluses in the 'nice' column. The 'naughty' will take care of itself like it usually does."

And so it goes these days with Ca… Continue

Hot Walker Blues

The invitation came pretty much on a dare, after listening and discussing what goes on early in the morning on the backstretch at Churchill, before the races are run. Fortified by several beverages, I express an interest in taking part in the morning routine...not as a spectator..but as an actual worker.

Before I know it, the offer is accepted and plans are laid out for me to show up Sunday morning. I offer to pick up my mentor for the day and the deal is done. I find myself a little nervous bu… Continue

CARDS headed to the Super Regional. Vandy falls 5-3

Since I was the designated fan at the game tonight, Sonja has trusted me with the report on tonight's game. First of all, it was a blast...ran into several friends and got to sit with the legendary Al Parrish thruout the contest and sample his "vitamin water" most of the game, so this might be interesting to read, OK? We had fun, though. Al is the man. It was a privledge and pleasure to enjoy a game with him.

Also got to talk to Cardinal Dominance founder Shannon after the game. If there is a b… Continue

Win it all....YES WE CAN

Shame on the media and newspapaers across the country calling us the weakest link in the Women's Final Four. Boo to the talking heads on TV and faceless blobs on radio that say we have no chance. Here's is the how and why the Lady Cards can march back from the Arch. We need several things to happen:

1) GO CARDINAL. The Stanford Cardinal. A beating of UConn in the late game Sunday would increase our chances of a Final Four title exponentially. The Cardinal beat UConn last year in the Final Four.… Continue

MARCHING TO THE ARCH!

Hey...Paul here...still alive and well and still the bomb.

Say it with me one time....FINAL FOUR, BABY! Your University of Louisville Lady Cards are headed to St. Louis to rock the Scotttrade Center and flatten the wheels on the Boomer Sooner Express. It's gonna be a knock down, drag out rock n' roll party in the streets and we ain't singin' no St. Louis blues. Noway.

They tried to railroad us and stack the deck against us. A three seed. Sening us to Bayou Country to play in LSU's back yard. D… Continue
