Softball Cards take thumping in Lexington 14-8

It started out well for the University of Louisville softball team in Lexington last night. Up 7-0 after two innings and ace pitcher Caralisa Connell in the cirlcle for the Lady Cards...one felt that a repeat of Louisville 's 6-0 victory over the Cats at Ulmer Stadium earlier this season was impending. Favorite Cardinal Game Experience:: Punching out a guy at the Liberty Bowl in the concession stand line during halftime in the '99 season when we were there to play Memphis.
Four of us got tossed, but me and Bob bought scalper tickets, went back to the van for a couple of beers, re-entered the stadium on the other side, bought and donned Memphis caps and t-shirts and walked unrecognized right past the cops that tossed us and returned to our seats...to the cheers of the group we were with. Louisville won that night 32-31 on a diving Lavelle Boyd catch of a Chris Redman pass in the end zone with 4 seconds to go.
