I don't think you understand how important Ryan Kessling has been to this team

                                                               Right Tackle, Ryan Kessling

Face it guys, being an Offensive Lineman is not the most glamorous positions on a Football Team.  If you want to be noticed, you should have been a race horse Running Back, or have an arm like a Silverback…

New CB Adrian Bushell – Why Florida? Why U of L? And Just “Who Is That Guy?”

Adrian Bushell turned in one incredible performance against uk last week end.  But not only did a player have an outstanding game, this competitor is a very, very new guy to the Cardinal scheme.  How did he become a Cardinal?  Were there other options and why did he choose here other than playing and liking Head Coach Charlie Strong and Defensive Coordinator Vance Bedford in the past?  And yes, Adrian is definitely highly talented but there is a learning curve to be an effective player on a…

UL at uk Game Observations - Part 1- Injuries and New Faces

There were so many things that were noteworthy at the UL – uk game last night that I am going to break all of them into different segments.  In Part 1, we talk about injuries and some of our newer faces as players are beginning to pick up playing time.

  • FR CB Terell Floyd and Red Shirt Fr Jordon Paschal were the wide outs on the Kick Off team.  Terell recorded his first tackle as a Card --- unassisted!…

So How Good Is uk's Defense? What About Last Year?

Can U of L's Offense move the ball against uk's Defense?

Many people feel like I do --- the team whose Defense can best control the other teams Offense should win tomorrow --- barring a turnover situation.   See yesterday’s article: …

What are the UL and uk offenses and defenses gonna do?

Will Stein, Dominique Brown, and QB Coach Shawn Watson

So what are UL and uk going to do when they have the ball and when they are on Defense?  It has been said “statistics never lie.”  The newer axiom adds “but people who use statistics do.”   Hmm, never…

EXCLUSIVE! Strategies, Ladybird Marcela Moore Interview, Starting Teams and Stats That Hurt

The following were different takeaways from our loss to FIU last night:

  • Our strategies on Defense for the game were:
  1. Don’t let T.Y. Hilton get behind us.
  2. Don’t let Hilton have a chance to run a kick off or punt return back on us.
  3. Put pressure on the FIU QB
  4. Stop the run
  • Our strategies for the game on Offense were:
  1. Overpower the smaller but quicker FIU DL and LB players

The K.O. Team, ESPNU’s Allison Williams, Scruggs' Surreal Sack, Our Injured and Other Tidbits

I attended my first game on the sideline Thursday.  It was quite fascinating and different.  Since I was always walking behind 50 yards of benches and players, I couldn’t get into the flow of the game as well as my regular seats.  But the excitement level was a different pitch.  The highs were higher and the lows were lower.  From my vantage point, I was able to get a lot of good pics and see many things quite differently.  This is a collection of those…

The Murray Post Game Press Conference --- We Lacked Rhythm

Will Stein started the Post Game Press Conference.  Will wears his feeling on his cuff and is a real joy to listen to.  You could tell he was very happy about the win.  Then his mood reflected the rest of the press conference --- somber.  Charlie, DeVante, Alex, BJ, Dexter --- they were all happy with the final destination of a win --- but you could see that the journey reflected that the entire trip was not a pleasurable one.

The following are some of the things…
