MIAMI, Fla. - The standout RB from Miami Christopher Columbus can make an immediate impact on the field this year as a true freshman.
We at CD have scouted several games of him during his senior and junior seasons here in Miami with our friend Charles Fishbein of Elite Scouting Services and Larry Bluestein of the Miami Herald. They have covered top-tier high school football for over 35 years in Florida, and every time we saw "Rad" play, he was the difference maker in a lot of those games.
When we caught up to him in Miami, he praised the way Coach Strong had turned the program around so quickly.
He comes form a winning program and knows that it takes a lot of hard work to win titles, as Coach Merritt at Columbus runs a very successful program and his practices are a very game like atmosphere.
Larry "Blue", as we call him, and "Fish" think Louisville's Clint Hurtt once again cherry picked the players he needed form the Miami area and gave Louisville a top 25 class in the NATION, just like I informed the fans before signing day.
Radcliff will be the type of back like Bush/Allen/Bolen who were difference makers on the field for Louisville throughout their careers at The Ville. "Rad" as we call him, is a very strong runner at 5-11 215 with tree trunk size legs who doesn't go down on first contact and will keep drives alive by moving those chains. Meaty. He also has great hands coming out of the backfield as Coach Merritt used him at times at TE. He is a complete, every down back, as he blocks very well and understands the game thoroughly.
Larry Bluestein of the Miami Herald, Charles Fishbein of Elite Scouting Services and myself know Radcliff is a 4* player; not a three star player as labeled by some scouting services. This corporate 3* rating has to stem from an injury two years ago as a junior, and also from having to share the carries with other studs at the RB position at Columbus. For the 2013 class, Christopher Columbus has two more studs coming out at RB.
Comment by Jim Wetherton on February 3, 2012 at 8:04pm Sounds like the bellcow we've been missing in our offense, capable of toting 20-25 carries a game.

Comment by mel jones on February 3, 2012 at 10:50pm doesnt really remind you of howard. howard was a quick jitterbug. he was 5'4-5'5 and weighed about 185. i know because i was his back-up my sophomore year.
Comment by Terry Jackson on February 4, 2012 at 12:31am Agreed. I liken him to a faster Bolen or smaller Bush in the way he keeps churning and breaking tackles.
Comment by dimori on February 4, 2012 at 5:52am The Staff targeted 1RB this Year and " Rad " was their Man from the day I interviewed Him too bad We couldn't pull of the Quinela with His teammate Deon Bush who at the end Coach Hurtt almost flipped Him.
