HOT! DaMarcus Smith Released From UCF LOI and Slated to Enroll at Louisville in January

QB DaMarcus Smith

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Star Louisville Seneca HS QB DaMarcus Smith who was once a verbal commit with Louisville, but signed with UCF on 2011 National Signing Day, has been released from his National Letter of Intent with UCF and is slated to enroll at Louisville in January.

Cardinal Dominance sources reveal that Smith has been finishing up his two final classes that he needed to be eligible, with his finals to be completed soon, and he has great grades in both classes.  Sources state that Smith has spoken with HC Charlie Strong, and from both Smith and Louisville's end, it is all good.

CD sources also have revealed that Smith has been throwing frequently with Louisville S Shenard Holton, and has started a rigorous weight training regimen, which he has never done before.

I have been invited to watch Smith work-out and get some footage of his newest feat, throwing the ball 72 yards on ONE KNEE.  Ex-Louisville safety and ex-Seneca HS defensive coordinator Bobby Buchanan, has a video of Smith throwing the football 60 yards one week after ACL surgery in his junior high school year.  No joke.

Stay tuned!

Smith seemed to get cold feet after Teddy Bridgewater signed.

Absolutely great post, Shannon.  I just breezed a few of the other sites and I thinkyou scooped the city!!!!!!!!!

And as they say in the old John Wayne flicks when the good guy shoots the bad guy's gun out of his hand:

"Nice shootin', Tex!"

Smith regrets his decision not to stay at Louisville, and he is VERY, VERY good friends with Jamon Brown.  I have been informed that Smith is attending church regularly, and has a great deal of humility now.

If you look from Louisville's standpoint, how could you pass on a young man like Smith?  If you have personally seen him play, he is a prodigy, and you know what all the excitement is about.

With all Smith's friends on the Louisville team (Brown, Parker, and Harrington), I am sure Smith has been fully briefed on the way things are done at Louisville under Strong.

I forgot to disclose, believe it or not (I guess we shall see), Smith MAY be a visitor this Saturday at the Syracuse game....

Also, Smith has been wearing ALL UofL gear now.......

If Smith really visits at the Syracuse game, watch the roof blow-off The Oven.

I am a HUGE Smith fan, so I am ULTRA excited about this. It is a blast seeing Smith's little brother Dayshawn giving me the Heisman pose......

Below is a video of a 65 yard pass from Smith, and my exclusive 2011 interview with Smith.  If you go to the top right hand corner of any page at CD and type "DaMarcus Smith" in the search, we have MUCHO EXCLUSIVE videos and articles on Smith.  Eleven pages worth......

Although many Card fans were confused over DS antics during his committment to UL, then UCF, we kind of knew he would eventually end up at UL.  Did they say why UCF finally released him?   Now will he have 4 years to play?   Great news, now the program is solid in numbers for the future at the QB, RB and receiver positions.

I see good things happening for DS and his career.

He didn't qualify. They had no choice in the release, it became automatic once he didn't qualify. Same as going to JUCO for a year or 2.
