Kentucky Basketball's New Blonde Mystery Secret Weapon
LEXINGTON, Ky. - In an unprecedented turn of events, Kentucky head coach John Calipari has added a NEW mystery big man to the mix in early December, trying to encourage the young Wildcats to "fight" and secure a birth in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, after falling just short of the 68 team field last season.
Entering the 2013 NIT, Kentucky came in strong as the #1 overall seed and earned the honor of playing the #8 lowest overall seed, Robert Morris. After a humiliating season ending performance in the first round on national T.V. to Robert Morris in the NIT, the Kentucky fans and administration are starving for success.... At ANY cost.
After some of the Big Blue Nation fans were calling for Calipari's head after the Baylor loss, Calipari is trying to please the rabid fans and employing NEW tactics, before the crazed fans put "For Sale" signs in his lawn and the UK administration puts him on the first thing smoking headed out of Lexington.
John Calipari just recently stated he has now taught the young Wildcats how to huddle at the free throw line, which I think is a GREAT move. All teams are taught do this from start... But, Calipari's strategy was to wait until about a third of the season is gone to employ this basketball fundamental. Use every stop in game play as an opportunity for the team to communicate with each other, plan strategy and learn. Check. But I am not so sure of Calipari's new secret weapon.
Solid reports coming out of Lexington say that Calipari has a mystery 7' big man with a dyed blonde, tilted high-top fade he is adding as a starter tonight hosting Boise State. The new blonde big man has been coined as "Miss Cindy" or "Ruby Rhod" in some basketball circles. Little is known about the new blonde behemoth. Last game playing #20 Baylor, Calipari sent out 7' starting center Willie Cauley-Stein with a little blonde patch dyed in his hair in an attempt to intimidate Baylor center Isaiah Austin. It backfired miserably with a 67-62 loss. Austin and Baylor did not seem intimidated even in the least, so it is baffling that Calipari is trying the dyed hair approach again to intimidate opponents, when the general consensus is that it made his team look soft and almost ensured the Baylor defeat.
Look for John Calipari's new blonde mystery big man tonight, as Kentucky unleashes him on Boise State. If any new information surfaces about the new blonde mystery secret weapon for Kentucky, please share it.
Let's hope for their sake that this is a better idea for UK than the Willie Cauley-Stein blonde hair patch in attempt to intimidate Baylor, Calipari calling members of his 2012-2013 Wildcats "uncoachable", the talking UK billboards or the bankrupt UK basketball museum.
