In regards to your recruiting besides Louisville, what other schools have offered you already? "I have about 12 offers... Kansas State, USF, UCF are some of them "
What did you think when Louisville beat Florida in The Sugar Bowl? "I was very impressed with their win."
How do players from South Florida feel in regards to getting offers from the BIG EAST Conference compared to the ACC? "It's a big difference. The ACC has produced through the years National Championships and with today's format and future playoff's in college football, schools in the ACC will be able to play for a national championship. It's (ACC) just a more competitive conference."
How would you feel playing for a national championship? "It would be a great experience and something all players would love in their college careers."
Tell me about your grades in school, "They are very good. I have a 3.5 GPA and would like to graduate early."
How was your season last year as a team, and what are the team's expectations this year? "We went 6-4 last year and we were very young, but this year we return 15 starters and our goal is to win our district and move on to the state finals and win it all."
What are you looking for in a schoo?l "I'm looking for a good fit for me and a school that has good academics."
What system do you prefer to play, a pro attack or a spread offense? "Either one. I have a very strong arm and great speed. We run both offenses here."
In the Nike Combine that I covered in Miami, "Nico" was one of the standouts in drills. In Jimbo Fisher's Camp in Tallahassee that our friend Charles Fishbein of Elite Scouting Services attended, Nico was of the best looking prospects at QB.
You have been compared to Cam Newton growing up, as you can beat a team with your arm or by running. Is that a good comparison? "Cam was a great player at Auburn, but I'm just trying to be Nico."
Coach Clements is a very good coach and preaches fundamentals on the playing field. What is coach doing with you guys now? "Well right now we are lifting weights Monday, Wednesday and Friday, before we hit the field in Spring."
We wish Nico and Coach Clements a great season this year, and we thank them for this interview.
Nico makes all the throws on the field and has a very strong arm and makes a lot of plays with his feet.He is very smart. He reads defenses very well and goes rather easily to his 2nd and 3rd options. There is no doubt Nico will be one of the top five QBs in the State of Florida in the 2014 class.
